In Adolphe Appia's hierarchy of staging – Body – Space – Light - Painting – the body of the performer takes the first place. Appia would have loved to see naked bodies on the stage. Strikingly, Appia has never portrayed the human body in his drawings and stage designs. The work of the Israeli artist Aviya Wyse fills this gap and presents us photographs of naked bodies. Twice naked: first because they do not wear clothes, and secondly because they are deprived of their history. Aviya Wyse tells us nothing about their personality and lets the bodies be what they physically are: a material.
